I had a dream that I was telling someone about This comic.

I don’t really have time or money to make a new costume this year, but I do have a few ready to go from Halloweens (and other things) past.

Seriously. I pulled one espresso shot on Monday, a zillion yesterday, and five zillion today. I think I’m starting to get consistent, but I still lack a sense for the dosing, the distributing, and the tamping. And milk? Holy crap. Overload. I have a giganto-blister on my finger where I accidentally steamed it today.

Tomorrow’s my last day of training. Color me not-so-confident. Scott, my manager, tells me not to fear the coffee. Respect, yes, but fear, no.

(By the way, I got a new job. In case you hadn’t noticed. If you’re in San Francisco, head up to Divisadero & California and I’ll make you a mediocre drink.)

The plan was this: move to San Francisco, stay with Grandpa while I find a job and a place, then move out and get on with my life.

The plan is now this: move to San Francisco, stay with Grandpa at least until January, or possibly indefinitely, and be there to make sure he eats enough and take him to the doctor whenever he falls over.

Do I sound unenthusiastic? Eh, it’s not really the glamorous city living that I had in mind when I planned the move, but it’s not so bad. I think I might have to buy him a DVD player and get a Netflix account though. I can’t handle another week of “Wheel of Fortune”.

Best of G.I. Joe PSAs
Remember the PSAs that they had at the end of every G.I. Joe episode? The heros delivered important messages like, “Here’s what to do if you get a nosebleed,” or, “Be nice to blind people,” in short cartoons. Some re-edited, uh, “adult” versions of these have been floating around the internet for a while, but you get the best effect by watching them all in sequence.

Drunken LOTR Cast Commentary
For this one, you need two things: a LOTR Extended Edition DVD set (doesn’t really matter which one), and a DVD player that allows you play video *and* audio at different speeds. Pop in the cast commentary, skip ahead to a part with Sean Astin and Elijah Wood talking (Shelob’s lair is my favorite bit), and then play the movie at 60% speed. Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.
